Nothing says romantic like too much Guinness. Celeste and Jason were both invited to the Shamrockn' Block Party in Ghent, Norfolk, VA on a Friday night to celebrate St. Patrick's Day Weekend. Celeste was invited by her friend, Jessica Dennis, from her Women's group at church and Jason by his squadron mate Jordan Dennis, married to Jessica. They only remember about half of the night, but they did manage to exchange numbers. The next day, Jason asked Celeste on a date, but she had to take a rain check because she already had plans for a 10-mile hike with friends on Sunday. She suggested they go on a date that Monday instead and it was two introverts on a first date. Luckily, there was trivia that Tuesday, on St. Patrick's Day that Celeste could invite Jason to in order to let him know that she was interested in him and that the first date had gone well. It was also lucky that her trusty wing-woman, Jodi, was there to assist the two introverts in starting conversation. The relationship took off from there and seven months later they both said their first "I love you" to each other.

Marjory and Larry Ostman had celebrated their 30th anniversary back in February and mom wanted to go huckleberry picking in Montana as well as hiking in Glacier National Park to celebrate. Relatives were invited and seeing as Jason's parents live near by, they were invited to come along for the adventure too. It was also on this trip that Jason planned on asking Larry for permission to marry his daughter, as well as pick up the ring, which was an heirloom from his Grand Aunt. Celeste's sister Becca had plans to hike up to Grinnell glacier, however, Celeste and Jason were a little hesitant since it would be an 11-mile hike with 1,700 ft of elevation gain. However, Becca was insistent and convinced Jason and Celeste to go anyway. The night before the big hike, Jason got Larry alone and asked his permission. Naturally, dad gave him a hard time, but was excited that he would soon have a son. Everything was in place. After hiking 5 1/2 miles to Grinnell Glacier, the gang decided to do lunch next to the mountain lake. Afterwards, they hiked around the glacier and took some pictures. When they were getting ready to leave, Jason asked Becca for one more pic, then he got down on one knee, pulled out a little white box, and proposed. With tears in her eyes and a smile on her face, Celeste said yes. There were many kisses.
