We always hear the question, “How did you two meet if you went to separate schools and are so different?!” Well, thanks to the groomsmen, Tevin and DeVontae, Celeste was introduced to the group at the all famous teen night at Tarry Hall. A few months later, Deion was in Grand Haven at the beach with his friends, while Celeste coincidentally was there with her friends. Celeste saw that Tevin was there, and reached out to meet up, strategically as she needed a ride home back to Grand Rapids (Back then, Celeste did not have the brightest group of friends!). To Deion’s irritation, Tevin offered Celeste and her friend a ride home, but Deion called shot gun of course, because he did not want to deal with more of Tevin’s annoying girl friends. The first thing that Deion noticed first about Celeste was her smile…and then thought she may not be so bad.
Celeste became good friends with the gang, and DeVontae and Deion hung out with Celeste all summer. One day, Deion decided to go for it and ask Celeste with the infamous line “So, you’re gonna be my girlfriend, right?” Like a typical teenage girl, Celeste stalled and awaited to consult with her 10 closest girlfriends before giving him a decision. After dance camp, a simple text saying “Good night, boyfriend!” sealed the deal, and they have been together ever since!
