It was the perfect place to pop the question...an adorable cabin in the quaint little mountain town of Florissant, CO. Melissa planned a scenic hike and made a point to pick out just the right spot for the perfect moment. Until...my bowels got the best of me. After two miles in, the urge to poop hit me like a ton of bricks. I did my best to clench the 40-minute trek back, and discouraged any conversation to ensure I didn't lose focus. Unbeknownst to me, I had just ruined plan A. That night, while I was prepping dinner in the cabin, Melissa asked if I would mind taking a break to look out at the stars with her. In typical Celeste fashion, I replied "Hell no, it's F*&$ing freezing outside!" I just ruined Plan B. After dinner, we cuddled up on the sofa with wine and watched one of our favorite shows...'The X-Files.' Halfway through, Melissa asked me to pause while she shared something important with me. I chuckled as I told her not to worry about it and said "Yes, I love you too." She insisted I let her speak, but I was sure she was just being her typical cheesy self. Not taking no for an answer, she proceeded to successfully deliver Plan C. Melissa proposed right then and there in the living room of our AirBnB. Both of us in our pajamas, a glass of wine in each hand, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in the background. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
