Once upon a time, two teenagers were totally obsessed with Halo 3. Ryan was 16, Elaine was 15, and their lives basically revolved around gaming. Ryan first met their mutual friend Courtney during an online match, and soon enough, Courtney introduced him to the rest of her squad. Elaine just happened to be hanging out in the gaming lobby, and from there, the rest is gaming history. Ryan and Elaine started playing together all the time, and before they knew it, they’d moved on from Halo 3 to Fable 3—where, fun fact, their characters were actually married. Little did they know, life was foreshadowing something big. 😉 At 18, Ryan decided to fly to America to meet all his online gaming pals, and that’s when he and Elaine finally met in person for the first time. But, as life often does, it got in the way, and the two lost touch for almost 8 years. Elaine drifted from gaming, and Ryan went on with his own life. But fate wasn’t done with them yet! One day, Elaine spotted Ryan in the “People You May Know” section on Facebook and thought, “Eh, why not?” She sent him a friend request, he accepted, and they’ve been talking every single day since. Now, after a few years of hopping back and forth between Ireland and America, Ryan made it official and popped the question in January 2024! 💍 And here they are—still winning at life, together. 🥰
