You are invited to come celebrate our Portugal elopement at a backyard reception party hosted by Linda and Rick Benton in the secluded northwoods town of Webster, Wisconsin. We will be starting around noon with a meal around 2. Address: 26480 Mattson Rd Webster, WI 54893 The laid back celebration will include a casual meal, lawn games, and dancing in the evening. Dress is dressy backyard casual, or however you feel comfortable! We plan to have some beer, wine, and pre-made cocktails, but if you really plan to party like it's 1999, we suggest bringing some of your own alcohol-- and remember to always be respectful and never drink and drive. We are NOT expecting gifts from anyone. We have everything we need & your presence is the only gift we want. For those who would like to give something, we do have an online registry with both material and experience options to choose from.
We met in our sophomore year of college at University of Wisconsin Stout in a photography class. After that class we didn't see much of each other over the next couple years as we were busy with coursework and remote internships. We reconnected towards the end of college as our friend groups started to intertwine, started dating, and moved to the Twin Cities together after school.
On our road trip through Utah with Alisa's long time friend, Andrea, Jacob had an antique opal ring inside an antique wooden inlay box in his bag the whole time, waiting for the right moment. He found it at the top of a 3 mile hike up a canyon in Capitol Reef National Park. The park is one of the least traveled in Utah and there was not a soul in sight the whole journey, with perfect weather and gorgeous views. He popped the question, and Andrea was able to capture the moment! [ALY Photography]
