We’re getting married!

This is a story that shouldn’t have happened. I mean, it started with a freaking pandemic. For most of us, that time brought chaos. It brought despair and fear. And during this time, many sat back and just waited to see what would happen. That’s all we could do… and that’s also why we have this story. Let’s just see what happens! That’s what Cedrine said to herself when she took a travel nurse assignment to Texas, then to Massachusetts, and finally to California. What else could combine her affinity for travel and desire to help those in need during such an unknown time? Let’s just see what happens! That’s what Matt thought when he actually downloaded a dating app, and he doesn’t even like social media! He needed that face-to-face connection after staring at blank faces on Zoom all day. And somehow, they matched! A mix of Chinese, Mexican, and Haitian flavors thrown together like the universe was making a very bold recipe. Two improbable souls, during an improbable time, doing things that were highly improbable for both. A boy from California and a girl from Florida who just wanted to see what would happen. And they surely did see what happened! Matt found out there was a world outside of southern California. He went on adventures and saw that things don’t actually fall apart without a plan. He realized that the most beautiful moments happen on a whim. For Cedrine, she learned that she didn’t have to do it all alone. She allowed herself to have a shoulder to lean on, something she realized was missing, and sometimes desired, since she was a girl being raised by a single mother. It’s improbable, but these two became whole during a pandemic. So, yes, this matchup is unlikely and probably shouldn’t have happened - But these two are incredibly blessed that it did. No global pandemic, monthly cross-country flights, long distance relationship status could stop it. And for that reason, March 21st of 2026 is happening!
