I met Cecily in 2017. She messaged me on Facebook, and told me that she was new to the church and was looking to meet new people. Little did I know she was plotting! Lol. We met and became friends. As we got to know each other, I learned that Cecily is extremely easy going. We were easily able to have deep conversations. She understood me for exactly who I was, and she was around for seasons where I truly started to learn who I am. We had a strong connection as friends, but in late 2019, I started to see Cecily differently. There was a specific conversation we had when I took her to Houston's to celebrate her birthday. It was that night I realized that I could potentially miss out on a woman who has everything I desire in a wife. I'm grateful for our foundation of friendship because nothing was rushed. We let God reveal the true intention of our relationship and I believe Cecily is the best decision I've made in my life.
I remember my mom and I going to church one Sunday in 2017. I was still new to Greater Community, so I didn't know anybody. As we were walking in the hallway, I see this guy standing by the door looking at his phone. He looks up and we make eye contact...I immediately see fireworks behind him. I know it sounds like a movie, but everything around me literally seemed to stop. LOL I ended up finding out his name was Eddie Clark. I found him on facebook and slid in his DMs and introduced myself! (YES LADIES - shoot your shot! haha) Over time, Eddie and I ended up becoming BESTFRIENDS. Out of our entire friend group, we were the closest. We had this tradition as friends every year where he would take me out to eat on my birthday. For my birthday dinner in 2019, I remember us having this deep convo and me mentioning how I felt myself getting ready to settle down with someone, but I wasn't even sure with who yet! I was living in my single season and living life, but I just felt it coming. A few weeks later, I noticed Eddie acting real different...like a boyfriend! LOL He ended up asking me on a date to Andretti's! It was definitely different at first because we had been so use to doing things as just friends. We had the best time and have been inseparable since. :) One thing I appreciate about Eddie and I is how God timed everything perfectly in our relationship. He knew that for us to be the solid couple that we are, we would need that strong foundation of friendship first. I'm blessed to be able to marry my soulmate.
