FAQs

Question

How far is the venue from Chicago?

Answer

Blissful Barn is just a 90 minute drive from the heart of downtown Chicago. It is an easy drive from both Midway and O’Hare airports

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! There is plenty of free parking at the barn

Question

Can I leave my car at the barn overnight the night of the wedding?

Answer

Absolutely! Overnight parking is available. Drunk driving is not cute. We will provide numbers for a couple of local taxi companies in the area. Unfortunately, while Uber & Lyft are available, they can be very unreliable in this area.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by May 1st 2021 to allow ample time for Covid related venue preparations and planning

Question

Can I book my hotel or Airbnb closer to the wedding?

Answer

We strongly recommend that you reserve your accommodations earlier than later. Southwest Michigan is a very popular regional summer vacation spot and many places fill up quickly.

Question

Are we social distancing?

Answer

The venue is an indoor/outdoor space with lots of open air and as such strict social distancing is not required. However, we will be taking all mandated and common sense precautions including: manned buffet stations with plexiglass covers, individual served appetizers, no shared items at tables, and sanitizer stations. Masks are required for the ceremony and encouraged as much as possible throughout the rest of the event, however, they will not be required during cocktails and dinner, coz we want you to eat, drink and be merry! We will try our best to sit people 6 feet apart and in your pods as best as possible, but because weddings by nature require some mingling, and we have a very diverse group of people attending, this will not always be possible. We will provide "I am distancing" tags for those who require stricter distancing during the event, that way other guests know to give them as much space as possible.

Question

What are you doing about Covid?

Answer

We request that all guests self-quarantine for the week leading up to the wedding. Additionally, we kindly require that you take a Covid test within a week of the wedding. This along with more widespread vaccinations will give us the best possible chance of ensuring everyone's safety. We will have mandatory temperature checks as you enter the ceremony space, and will be enforcing all common sense precautions recommended for an outdoor event. We will communicate any Covid related updates via email and this website as the wedding day gets closer.

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

No worries! We have you covered. Simply indicate this when you RSVP. Please be sure to note exactly what restrictions you have (vegan, dairy free, gluten free etc).

Question

Can I post on social media?

Answer

Heck yeah! We would love to share the moments with you. Be sure to use the hash tag #freshnewjordans

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

We have a hotel block reserved at the Holiday Inn Express, New Buffalo. Use code "CJT" to lock in a great low rate. Block reservation must be made by May 8th 2021. Additionally, there are plenty of wonderful hotels and Airbnb’s in the area. Please book early

Question

Dress code?

Answer

Cecilia is a chronic over dresser and TJ is decidedly not. So seeing you in semi formal attire is sure to make them both happy! Be sure to wear your dancing shoes!
