Matt Hruska

Best Man

My favorite memory of Mitch and Cecilia was when they lived with me at my house in St. Louis Park. They made a 4-course meal for me and my now wife. They went all out and even printed out a menu they had put together for us to pick from. Mitch was the waiter/bartender and Cecilia was the chef. They put together an amazing meal! The menu included bacon wrapped water chestnuts, house salad, hamburger and ham and swiss sliders, and even an Oreo dessert. Mitch the bartender whipped up an old fashioned as well. As you can tell, Mitch and Cecilia are an incredible team and I could not be more thankful to have them both in my life!

Emma Shortreed

Maid of Honor

The first time I met Mitch he decided to brave a hockey game with our entire family. This was before he and Cecilia were even dating so I figured he was either crazy or cared about my sister a whole lot. I was happy to find that not only was the latter true, but he complimented our family in a way I didn’t think anyone could. Over the last six years, I have felt so lucky that Mitch has become an irreplaceable part of our family. I’m so excited for my beautiful sister Cecilia and Mitch to start the rest of their lives together!

Groomsman

My first memory of Mitch and Cecilia is picking up Mitch to take him home for Thanksgiving break his first semester at UW-Madison. Waving at us out the window of Sellery Hall was Cecilia. When I asked Mitch who the girl was, he replied, "my wife". Little did I know, he was serious. Congrats Mitch and Cecilia!

Bridesmaid

My favorite memory of Cecilia and Mitch is when they came to support me at one of my basketball games. They both took time out of their busy college student schedules to watch a high school basketball game. Even though I know only played a few minutes, they came down from the stands with the best and biggest smiles. I won’t forget how happy they made me feel.

Groomsman

It was the fall of 2016 and I was at the La Bahn Arena for a hockey game when my sister Cecilia introduced me to a man named Mitchell. My first thought was, "this guy can shake a hand". Life went on and on with these two together. I would go to the zoo with Cecilia and Mitchell. They were the only people I could be around where I felt like I could show my true teenage mode. Mitchell is now going on family trips and family gatherings. Most of all I can finally say I have a brother. Welcome to the fam Mitch, I am excited to see what adventures will come along in this next chapter of our lives.

Bridesmaid

My favorite memory of Cecilia and Mitchell was on the day of my freshman year homecoming. They did all they could to make my day special! Cecilia graciously did my makeup, even though I took half of it off, and Mitch helped me search our empty high school at a chaotic speed when I suddenly remembered I needed my student ID. They took me to take my pictures, and their presence made the day so much more meaningful. They were even kind enough to drive me and 13 other high school freshmen (yikes) to the dance. They do so much for family, and I hope they feel all our thanks returned in as much love and support as we can provide on their special day.

My favorite memory with Cecilia and Mitchell is when Emma and I visited them in May 2021. Cecilia and Mitch showed us downtown Minneapolis. Well attempted to, a very ambitious Cecilia ended up leading us on a walk to nowhere. However, the restaurant selection made up for the walk, because I ended up eating one of the best burgers of my life. Eventually, we went to a park where we met an interesting elderly man who was watching his dog swim in the river. I have always appreciated the adventurous nature Cecilia and Mitchell have, and I look forward to being led on another adventure with Cecilia and Mitch.

Officiant

It’s hard to choose a favorite memory of Mitch and Cecilia, but one that always stands out is Mitch and Cecilia hosting Matt, myself, and both of our pups while trying to sell our house. Not only did they let me sleep in their house during the day since I was working nights, but they prepared an awesome feast for dinner. Being the loving and thoughtful people they are, Cecilia made me a second dinner to have while at work and Mitch snuck in a sweet note to get me through the shift! I feel so lucky to have them in my life and can’t wait for Cecilia to finally be my sister! ♥️
