Maid of Honor
Emily, or Emilias, is Cecilia’s older sister and also her best friend! Even though their younger years included getting into fights and throwing hairbrushes at each other (RIP the wall at our Drake House), as they got older they became closer and quickly figured out that being on the same team was a better fit for both of them. Cecilia enjoyed hanging with her sister so much throughout high school that she followed her to PSU where Emily finally introduced Cecilia to Pierogis (and to this day Cecilia will never eat them again). Stand out memories for Emily and Cecilia include everything from Emily being Cecilia’s chauffeur in their Isuzu in high school to galivanting around their first Panigiri together in Greece in 2014. Emily is Cecilia’s #1 fan and is the most positive person Cecilia knows. Emily currently lives in Singapore with her fiancé, Tim lah (aka VGNDMN), and Cecilia can’t wait for Emily to stand next to her on her big day!
James Hill
Best Man
James and Kevin have known one another for a long time (over a decade), and their shared history is littered with prolific accomplishments. Their most notable memories together come from the year 2001, when they got a bunk bed for their bedroom; 2003, when they beat Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64; and 2007, when they both got punched in the face by the same guy (in separate incidents). James and his girlfriend Kristen live in New York, where they enjoy frequenting the same 2-3 restaurants repeatedly, and occasionally visiting their favorite people in Glendale, Arizona. Kevin is proud to have James by his side on his big day.
Olivia Hopkins

Olivia (O-Hop) and Cecilia met during their sophomore year at PSU and have been best friends since. Throughout college, Cecilia would call Olivia her energizer bunny as Olivia could stay out till 4 am on a Friday night and be up the next day at 7am to give Cecilia a wake-up call so they could tailgate throughout Penn State’s football season. Olivia is one of the kindest and most genuine people Cecilia knows and is always down for shenanigans. She currently lives in Philly with her boyfriend, Dan!
Colin Muldoon

Louis XVIII is reported to have said that “Punctuality is the politeness of Kings”. Well, sorry Lou, but Colin Muldoon has never been a fan of monarchies. Colin and Kevin have done a lot together over their many years of friendship: they’ve found lost cats, eaten large tubs of ice cream, and boarded flights to Florida (with 50% of their combined luggage). Colin was a prolific athlete in both high school and college, but he’s most proud of scoring the 2nd most touchdowns on the 2004 Scarsdale Youth Football team, and being the 3rd best wrestler on the 2010 SHS squad. Colin lives in North Carolina, on or near some kind of government facility (this is probably for the best) with his wife Suzanna and their dog Maggie.
Sam Kayne

Sam and Cecilia became instant best friends after meeting on the 4th floor of Snyder Hall their first week of freshman orientation at PSU. After Sam’s freshman year birthday party, which was filled with slizzing and Buddy the Elf, Cecilia knew that Sam was a keeper. Sam and Cecilia (and Pooh and Rafiki) went on to live together for the next 3 years (shout out to BHill) and they never got sick of each other. During their time together at PSU they enjoyed raiding each other ‘s closets each weekend for outfits, waking up at the crack of dawn to tailgate outside Beaver stadium during football season, and trekking to Canyon Pizza on the weekends for a late-night slice. Sam currently lives in Jersey City, NJ with her fiancé, Phil!
Rib

Due to a catastrophic mix-up between the “Invite” list and the “Do NOT Invite” list, Rob “Rib” Anderson will be in attendance at our wedding. But fear not, dear reader: the show will go on. Rib and Kevin met at Northeastern in 2010, and despite Rib’s abrasive personality they’ve been close friends ever since. While they’ve shared many memories together, from early morning soccer games to late night Large Chick-Los, Kevin is most proud of being present for Rib’s first and only attempt at removing a large icicle from the roof of their college apartment. No one associated with this wedding has any idea how Rib spends his spare time. However, based on a quick perusal of his social media profiles, it appears to involve a woman named Lydia, a dog named Doug, and a band called Vampire Weekend.
Kristin O'Hara

Kristin (aka Schnuggle Princess) is one of Cecilia’s oldest friends, with their friendship stemming from the day Cecilia’s mom dragged her to join Edgewood’s girl scout troop back in the day. Kristin’s family became a second family to Cecilia as Cecilia would bike to Kristin’s house every chance she got (usually to weirdly watch Kristin practice Irish Step Dancing) or to binge SVU. As they grew up, their weekends got a little wilder (well the ones where Kristin wasn’t grounded) and you could always find Kristin and Cecilia attached at the hip wreaking havoc. Kristin currently lives with her fiancé, George and daughter dog Harper, in Cape Town, SA and is getting married in March of 2023!
Phil Kennedy

Phil and Kevin met one another after their first rugby game at Northeastern in 2010. Though it was obvious from the beginning that Phil would be one of the softer players on the team, he and Kevin nonetheless hit it off right away. They would go on to become roommates (Ham roommates, specifically) and have left a wake of destruction in their path from the Northeastern Campus to Westchester county and everywhere in between. They have learned a lot together, like how to pronounce the word “misled”, and which train stations between the World Trade Center and Red Bull Arena have bathrooms. Phil lives in London, and he and his fiancée Caroline are preparing for their own wedding in 2024.
Margaret Gandolfo

Margaret (Marg$$$$$) has been one of Cecilia’s best friends since their awkward phases of SMS. Marg$ had an integral part in the matchmaking process of Kevin and Cecilia’s relationship as it was at Marg$’s Sweet 16 (PZ GLITTER) where Cecilia and Kevin shared their first kiss! Throughout high school, Marg$ was always down for an adventure. She and Cecilia would go on ROUNDS daily and would “conveniently” drive by Edgewood so Cecilia could get a glimpse of Kevin playing basketball from a mile away . Almost all of Cecilia’s high school memories (and pictures) have Margaret in them and she is lucky to call her one of her besties.
Seth Marcus

Seth and Kevin met at Edgewood School in 1997, where as the two fastest kids on the playground (the order is not important) they quickly became good friends. While they remained close throughout childhood, their friendship really blossomed when they started Wrestling in 2004 and began to experience the unique benefits that sport had to offer (extreme weight loss, debilitating skin infections, etc.). Seth would go on to become the 2nd best wrestler on the 2010 SHS team, something he’s very proud of to this day. Outside of the demise of the Glass Elephant, Seth and Kevin’s most cherished memory together is from 2015, when they spent $650 each to be there in person as their favorite team got eliminated from the World Series in devastating fashion. Seth lives in Ballston Spa, NY with his fiancée Bridget and their dog Remi.
Laura Amato

Laura and Cecilia go way back to before the prehistoric (Dino-themed road rally) days. As crazy track youngins, Cecilia and Laura could be found lounging on the high jump mat during spring track practice, getting their tan on and reflecting on their time spent in Ms. May’s social studies class earlier that day. Not only did Laura and Cecilia spend time together in class in high school, but they would make it a daily occurrence to spend lots of time eating #7 breakfast sandwiches and multiple chocolate chip cookies in the SHS cafeteria together. In recent years, Laura and Cecilia have become even closer through their shared passion for Guy Fieri. Laura currently lives in Astoria, NY with her husband, Sal, who helps her perfect her Bobby Flay staredown daily.
Dan Hecht

Dan Hecht does not have any positive attributes that can be mentioned here; in fact, most people don’t particularly enjoy hanging out with him. Fortunately for Dan, Kevin is not afraid to swim against the current. Dan and Kevin met at Northeastern in 2010, where they bonded over the fact that they were both uniquely funny, uncommonly handsome, and were both Division One Athletes (at the club level). Dan and Kevin have been good friends for nearly 13 years, during which time they have racked up zero accomplishments but many wonderful memories, including an ill-fated Dropkick Murphys concert and a long, silent walk home after Super Bowl XLVI. Dan and his wife Mary live in Seattle (or potentially in New Hampshire, depending on when you’re reading this) with their dog Carl.
Ilana Balter

Ilana was one of Cecilia’s first friends back during their Heathcote days. They spent their childhood beating everyone in box ball (D girls for life), playing soccer during recess with the boys, and purposely buying the same Limited Too outfits together to match on their first days of school. As they grew up, they stayed close, texting every day and backpacking to different places together. Ilana currently lives in New York City with her fiancé, James, and is helping to save lives as a nurse practitioner! Fun fact: Ilana is a triplet and her two brothers are good friends of Kevin’s!
Austin Knief

Austin “Big Rich” Knief and Kevin first met on the Scarsdale Travel Baseball team in the summer of 2003. Through many summers and eventually springs of baseball, they became close friends. They would go on to accomplish a lot together, like when they pioneered Hard Knock Tuesdays at SHS in 2009, when they terrorized the streets of Manhattan as part of Lunch Nation in the 2010s, and when they nearly burned down the village of Scarsdale at a graduation party in 2014. Austin and Kevin also both went to college in the Boston area, and got together whenever they could to attend Knicks games and take sick pictures of Charles Barkley. Austin lives in New York City, where he focuses on Commercial Real Estate and getting bodied.
Nicole Intrieri

Nicole and Cecilia first started really hanging out and getting close in their freshman year of high school. Back then their time together consisted of snacking at cross country meets, meeting up at Lange’s with the other CATZ and driving through every street in Scarsdale blasting DJ Khaled and Timbaland in their cars while screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. Fast forward to more recent years, the extensive list of the antics of these two besties has gotten longer and includes almost everything from running around Brussels, Belgium at two in the morning to pool hangouts in the Hamptons. Nicole has been there for Cecilia through it all and currently lives in Delaware with her husband, Tom, where she still yells FYP frequently to passersby on the street.
Matt Connor

It’s been said that you should save the best for last. Well, we here at the McKenna-Hill wedding website do not subscribe to this theory, so we’ll be wrapping things up with Matt Connor. Matt and Kevin have been close friends since 2010, when they lived in the same dorm at Northeastern and also started playing together on the same rugby team. Kevin got to know the fierce side of Matt on the rugby field over the ensuing years, but also got to see his more gentle, nurturing side through his wonderful relationship with their college cat, Reggie (RIP). Matt and his wife Kristen live in Portland, with their two dogs Jasper and Stevie.
Tim Sanderson

Starting with The Exorcist in 1973, American cinema and culture has been littered with demons of every shape and size. However, when you survey the landscape of these famous characters, it’s hard not to notice a glaring omission: none of these demons have lived a plant-based, vegan lifestyle. Here to fill this gap is Cecilia & Kevin's officiant, Tim Sanderson (a.k.a: The Vegan Demon). Tim has known the bride and groom since 2013, when he started dating his now-fiancée Emily (who happens to be Cecilia’s Maid of Honor!). When both couples lived in the same time zone AND state, Kevin-Cecilia-Emily and Tim would spend countless weekends together exploring all the free activities NYC had to offer or stuffing their faces with food at BBCC’s epic weekend brunches. When he’s not training for his next IronMan Race or foraging local shrubberies for his next meal, Tim can be found exploring Singapore and the world with Emily. Cecilia and Kevin are honored to have Tim as their officiant!
