Elias and I grew up in the same church but, oddly enough, never met until last year. We started going to our young adults group at church around the same time. The night we finally met and interacted, I was wearing blue eye contacts and my unicorn onesie for a onesie bowling night event the group held. We all headed over to Tacos El Gordo after bowling. The first thing Elias said to me was "Your eyes are insanely blue." After explaining that I was wearing colored contacts and my eyes are actually "poop brown", we got to talking about how I loved doing makeup and wanted to do horror movie makeup. Elias told me that he was a filmmaker and actually wanted to create horror films. We clicked instantly and talked as if it was just us two in the whole world. Every interaction after that night was essential into piecing together our love story, and every moment we spent together from then on, we knew falling in love was inevitable.

No one really knows how their day is gonna end, and that’s exactly what I was planning on. Earlier that week, Ceci wanted to plan a special weekend for me. There were no special occasions to celebrate, it would just be a fun weekend for just the two of us. She was so excited to treat me to a special weekend, but I saw it as the perfect opportunity to flip it and give her the most memorable weekend of her life. Throughout the day, I was so nervous on when I was gonna pop the question. I had everything all ready: I got the ring, talked to her dad, all I had to do was ask. I originally wanted to take her to Coronado Beach as it is a very special location to us. But as the day went on, plans shifted and we ended up having a bonfire at my grandparents house. Luckily, the change in plans ended up being to my advantage. It totally threw Ceci off the scent of me proposing. When it came down to actually asking the question I was feeling scared. I knew she was going to say yes but it was just a weird feeling. More of a “I can’t believe this is finally happening.” I couldn’t believe how blessed I was to finally find the person who was designed to be my perfect match. I found essentially my bestfriend and the person I am going to spend eternity with. When I asked Ceci to be my wife, she said yes! I was so happy and I can’t wait to start this next season of our life together.
