Hello friends! Due to the pandemic we have rescheduled our wedding to be in Brooklyn, and in light of all the travel restrictions, have limited the day to just immediate family and friends already here in the New York area. We are hopeful that someday, we can all be together and celebrate together as we had originally planned to in Maine back in July. We are sending our love to all of you - please stay safe, and hopefully we are able to see eachother soon!
Cecilia and Jack met in Worcester, Massachusetts, at first briefly at UMass Medical School's "second look" day (Cecilia was a prospective student; Jack a first-year), then later in full (at a classmate's party) when they were both students. Cecilia was curious about the second year with "presidential hair" (it was better then); Jack was instantly smitten by Cecilia's dry sense of humor. Jack initially asked Cecilia on several coffee dates, even though Cecilia didn't drink coffee. They went on two, which Jack thought went great, however Cecilia will now say that if Jack didn't ask her on a proper date, she would have dropped the whole thing. Jack eventually summoned the courage to ask Cecilia on a full dinner date, on the weekend of Valentine's day (careful not to pick the actual Valentine's Day for fear of scaring Cecilia away). Cecilia counter-proposed that they go on the date ON Valentine's Day. Many more dates followed, and by summertime, they had declared each other boyfriend and girlfriend. Medical school flew by, and Jack (one year ahead of Cecilia) extended his curriculum by one year to match his schedule with Cecilia. They graduated together in 2017, and traveled to New York together where they both live and work as residents. Exactly 5 years to the date of their first official date, Cecilia and Jack went on another dinner date - and on the way home, outside of their Brooklyn apartment, Jack popped the question (thankfully, Cecilia said yes). We are now so excited to share our love with you - our family and friends - in Brooklyn, NY!
