FAQs

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

To allow all guests to relax and fully enjoy our wedding, we have chosen to make our event adults only outside of immediate family (21+). We thank you for your understanding.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to return my RSVP by mail?

Answer

Once the invitations are sent out, we will update this response with a definitive deadline and more details.

Question

What is the dress code for the Welcome Reception?

Answer

We are describing the attire for this event as "South Beach Cocktail Attire." We are hoping for a fun Miami nightlife vibe to enjoy the rooftop poolside party.

Question

What is the dress code for the Wedding?

Answer

Our wedding is Black Tie. This dress code is typically reserved for formal evening events. Guests commonly choose floor-length gowns and tuxedos when attending a black-tie event. We recognize this may be different than other events our guests may have attended and have included some tips below for how to get Black Tie ready! Tux-wearing individuals: -Men's Wearhouse and The Black Tux are great Tuxedo rental options. -We have a local Men's Wearhouse in Coral Gables (350 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL 33134) where you can pre-order your tuxedo to be picked up and dropped off in Miami, so you can rent it for a shorter period of time. -You can also find reasonably priced tuxedos on Amazon. Dress-wearing individuals: -We recommend Rent The Runway, where you can rent formal gowns at a fraction of the cost. You can try the code DRESS25 for a discount. -You can also find reasonably priced floor length gowns on Amazon.

Question

Where is the ceremony? What should I expect from the wedding venue?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be held at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. Upon arrival, there will be ushers as well as signs to direct you. The ceremony will be outdoors, the cocktail hour will be indoor/outdoor and the reception will be outside under a tent. The venue is a large botanical garden, so we recommend comfortable shoes that are able to walk on gravel and pavers.

Question

What time should I arrive to the wedding?

Answer

We recommend arriving at Vizcaya 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony, especially if you are driving. Entering the venue by car can be challenging as it is a one lane road that is easily backed up due to the small parking lot. By arriving to the venue at 6:30PM (30 minutes prior to ceremony), you can ensure that you will arrive at the venue and get to the ceremony location, within the venue, on time. If you are taking a shuttle from one of the two hotels, these will be leaving promptly at 6PM in order to arrive on time.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Guests can make their way from the ceremony, through the gardens, down to the cocktail hour. Hors d’oeuvre and drinks will be served. After the cocktail hour, the dinner reception will begin. During both of these events, there will be a photo booth to check out and guestbook to sign!

Question

Is there parking for the welcome drinks and ceremony?

Answer

Welcome Reception: It is about a 9 minute walk (.4 miles) from Aloft Hotel to SLS Brickell for the Welcome Reception. There is valet parking at SLS Brickell, nearby parking structures or you can take an Uber/Lyft. Ceremony/Reception: The venue has a free parking lot (across the street) and there are plenty of spaces. However, if you plan on enjoying the open bar we suggest taking the shuttle from one of the hotels! Please check out our Travel & Accommodations page for shuttle information.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to capacity restrictions, we have a strict guest list. Our wedding is strictly invitation only and we are only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

I have a food allergy/specific dietary restrictions. Can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please indicate any food restrictions or allergies when you RSVP. We will do our best to accommodate requests.

Question

What if the hotel block is already booked?

Answer

Please let us know and we will contact the hotel to see if they will add additional rooms. However, both hotels have told us that this will be based on availability, so we recommend securing a room as soon as possible.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

During the ceremony, we ask that all guests are unplugged and do not have their phones out. We would like everyone to be fully present during this time and allow our photographers to work their magic. We also want to minimize distractions during the ceremony. Any other time the answer is yes! Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #VidadeVotta so we can keep track of all of your pictures.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you

Answer

Please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us by phone or email if you have any more questions.
