Travel Note
THANK YOU for joining us in the Dominican Republic for our wedding. We recognize that this is not a small ask of our loved ones, and we are beyond excited to celebrate with you in a tropical paradise! A few notes: Check your passport expiration date and be sure it does not expire for at least 3 months after the trip. If you need to obtain a passport or renew your existing one, do so as soon as possible as wait times can be long. Las Terrenas is on the northern side of the island in Samana province, and 2 hours from the nearest popular airport. Because of this, we will be providing several round trip private shuttles from Las Americas Santo Domingo to Las Terrenas, which is a 2 hour drive. If you would like to provide your own transportation (rental car, bus, taxi, etc.), you can of course do that! There is no cost to you for taking our provided shuttle, but please expect a bit of a wait as we will be grouping folks together based on flight times. Our goal is to make your travel as seamless as possible. Las Terrenas is incredibly walkable, but we suggest taxis if traveling outside of the city center. Las Terrenas is known mostly for villas and boutique hotels. We suggest checking out Google Maps and Airbnb/VRBO for places to stay. The area is very reasonably priced, and there is something for every budget. Our top suggestions for areas to stay: 1. Playa Coson. If staying in Playa Coson near "Villa del Mar", you will be walking distance to the wedding venue and on the most pristine stretch of beach! 2. Las Terrenas, closer to the beach. Las Ballenas is a quieter area to the west, and Punta Poppy is a bit more vibrant to the east. All areas are within walking distance to restaurants in the city center.
Flight
The closet airport to Las Terrenas is Samaná El Catey International, but flights are significantly more expensive and have less options. We suggest flying into Las Americas International, Santo Domingo. Las Americas has very reasonable prices and lots of flight options. For our Tampa/St. Aug friends and family: JetBlue has cheap non-stop flights from Orlando (MCO) to Santo Domingo (SDQ). We've flown this and would recommend!
Shuttle
December 9, 2026 8:00 am - 12:00 am
To make it easier for our guests, we will be providing several round trip private shuttle transfers to/from the Las Americas Santo Domingo Airport to Las Terrenas. The drive is about 2 hours one way. If you would like to utilize this service, we will need your flight info once booked. We will do our best to group folks into shuttles to keep wait times low. More information to come.

This hotel is about 5 min walking to Villa Del Mar, our venue.
Hotel
We do not have an affiliation with this hotel, but it is a great option on Playa Coson.
