We're getting married!

In the summer of 2013 Chandler headed off to Camp Ton-a-Wandah as a counselor, a place that had been her second home for many summers and her favorite place in the world. That same summer Chris left England for an adventure of a lifetime, crossing the Atlantic to work at Camp Carolina, an all-boys camp nearby in Brevard, North Carolina. With Ton-a-Wandah being an all-girls camp it meant one thing every session: the highly anticipated dance with one of the neighboring boys’ camps. Each morning, the girls waited in hopeful suspense for the camp director to step up to the microphone and deliver the words “Girls… get your dancing shoes on!” And in May of 2013 that announcement led Chandler and Chris to the same place: a counselor "Country Barn Dance" in the Camp Carolina skate park. And just like that, in the middle of rowdy camp songs, funky mismatched outfits and lessons on line dancing, their story officially began. When summer ended life pulled them in different directions. They lived separate lives but somehow managed to keep in touch and reuniting from time to time in Athens and Atlanta. One particularly unforgettable run-in happened at the ATL airport in the summer of 2016 where they shared Chick-fil-A and took approximately 25 selfies (all Live Photos, thankfully preserving both the memory and Chris’s clear dislike of selfies) before once again heading their separate ways. In 2022 Chandler and Chris finally reconnected for good, this time thanks to Chandler sliding into Chris’s DMs with a “9 years ago” throwback photo. What started as an innocent Facebook throwback quickly turned into something much more. Four days later, Chris booked a flight from London to Chicago and the rest, as they say, is history. The next three years were spent long-distance between London and Chicago. Chris racked up British Airways points and found a second home in downtown Chicago while Chandler got a taste of English countryside living and the joy of being just a short flight from countless European adventures. In the summer of 2025 Chandler moved across the pond to start their life together in England. And now, here they are, coming full circle to celebrate their marriage in the very place where it all began 13 years ago: Camp Ton-a-Wandah. Not just a place, but a place in your heart.
