We swiped Right! (but Christine doesn't really like to admit that) Thanks Tinder!
After about a month of talking and a fair amount of stalling (on Christine's part, of course), we decided to meet at Deadly Sins Brewing in Winter Park. When we met in the parking lot the first words Christine said were, "I hate you and I don't want to be here". But don't worry, I'm pretty sure this story has a happy ending....
Ali orchestrated a day-trip to Fort DeSoto in Tampa. We started out the day kayaking and yes, we got lost. Like going in a circle lost. After being exhausted from paddling (or lack there of for some of us cough Christine cough) we went to cool off in the ocean and lay by the beach. After a while, we started to walk along the beach toward the nearby pier. During this walk, Christine decided to climb on a small wreckage at the water's edge. When stepping down off it she sliced her leg on a barnacle. Ali thought her plan and the day was ruined. However, Christine rallied. When we finally made it to the end of the pier we stood there, looking out and chatting about nothing in particular. Ali bent down as if to find something in her backpack, knowing Christine would pay no mind. Ali then pulled a small box out and said, "Baby, can you hold this?" and handed Christine a ring box. Shocked and surprised Christine freaked out, being taken totally off guard. Blah, blah, blah. "Will you marry me?" "YES!"
Next up, the BIG day!
