I was having a good time chatting with some high school friends at the Kensal streetdance in August 2014 when a cute guy that I somewhat knew of bumped into me and started to chat. We knew of each other, but never truly met before. He asked me to dance and man was he an amazing swing dancer! We were getting so into swing dancing that he swung me so fast that my ring fell off. His response was, "Oh that's fine, it looks like it came out of a cracker jack box." and then I responded after a little pause, "It was my Grandma's." He felt so bad, but we laughed so hard after! Our wittiness and jokes with one another haven't changed one bit ever since!
We had just came home from a friend's wedding in Fargo that Sunday, June 29th. We planned to go shore fishing when we got home, but Caylor said that he had to go "fill up his truck" before fishing so he could haul corn the next morning. So I went home to get our fishing gear ready and a cooler packed. He came back within an hour or so and we were ready to head out. It was another ordinary Sunday of crop checking before we went fishing and the canola fields were in full bloom. He knows that the canola bloom is my absolute favorite, along side the sunflower bloom. He took me to his field of canola and said, "Let's walk up to the top of the hill so we can get a better view of all the canola." So we walked up to the very top and there was a large rock that had "MARRY ME" carved into it. I turned around to see Caylor on one knee just smiling with joy and he asked the question, "Will you marry me?" Not only was the view of the Rosenau's beautiful canola all around us amazing, but it will be incredible to come back to that rock in 20 years to reminisce on such a perfect evening.
