Cayla and Dj grew up in the same neighborhood where their parents still live. If you’ve ever visited, you’d know it’s a maze back there, however naturally they would meet. Dj would play basketball while Cayla double dutched at the neighborhood park. Years later he'd be picking her up from her house to collaborate her vocal skills with his music production. Through the years eventually they really saw each other. Cayla fell in love with how laid back, protective, yet kind hearted Dj was. While Dj loved Cayla’s fun personality and caring nature. Friendship and the love of music brought them together. True love for one another has brought them to the altar.

Dj proposed on July 6th, 2024 at a restaurant and crab house overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Prior to the proposal, Dj planned a lunch date followed by his cousin's housewarming party. Cayla loves seafood so she was excited! It was such a nice Saturday as they sat, joked, and rambled about the beautiful homes across the way. Out of nowhere, a camera man appeared and Dj on one knee asked, “Are you ready to spend the rest of your life with me?”. Cayla was shocked, “Are you serious? It’s happening now?!”. Cayla said YES, cried her tears and proceeded to call her mom. While on the phone, Cayla’s mom asked to see her ring before going to the housewarming party. As Cayla arrived to her parent's house she noticed that there were a number of cars parked up and down the street. Cayla looked at Dj and said “Is my mom having something today?". Cayla quickly realized all their friends and family were there for them, and the “housewarming party” Dj referred to was actually a surprise engagement party!
