We met in July of 2016 on our first Ragnar Relay. To sum up this race, there are twelve runners per team and each runner has three different legs in the space of about 24 hours. As you can imagine, its not a pretty sight by the end of this. Everyone is sleep deprived, stinky, and sweaty. I was only fifteen so I thought Garrett was a good looking guy but I never pursued a relationship because my focuses were on school and sports. Garrett on the other hand had his mind made up from that moment... he would pursue me. Flash forward to July 18, 2018, we officially began dating. I came to my senses and realized that I had always liked this boy and finally let him stop chasing after me. I guess you can say the rest is history!

We started kayaking on Twin Lakes. I thought it was a normal kayaking trip, but Garrett knew all the fun that was about to unfold in the next hour. Not long after we began our little adventure, Garrett pointed out a big sign that said "SAVANNAH" on someone's dock. I began to get excited as I knew what was in store for me very soon! I continued to search for another sign on a dock when soon I saw the second sign... "WILL YOU" At this point on our kayaking trip I started to hold back tears as I knew exactly what the next sign would say... I'm sure we could all guess what the next sign would say. As we approached the final sign I started paddling faster to get a clear view of it. There it was in plain sight and it said "HAVE DINNER WITH ME?" I was a little upset, but I agreed to dinner and we kayaked over to a little cabin on an island where we would have a picnic. Not expecting anything but the picnic at this point, Garrett told me to turn around where I found family and friends in a boat holding up the sign I was waiting for... "SAVANNAH JEWEL WILL YOU MARRY ME?" Tears filled my eyes as I turned around to find Garrett on one knee asking me to be his forever as fireworks filled the sky. As you all may probably have guessed... I said yes! We could not be more excited to share this story with you all and we cannot wait to start our future together!
