We're getting married!

Cat and Zach’s story began during their freshman year at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse in the fall of 2016 - and it wasn't exactly love at first sight. The two lived in the same dorm hall, which meant plenty of run-ins from the very beginning. A disagreement between Cat and Zach’s best man, twin brother, and roommate, Jarett, set the stage for a memorable (and slightly contentious) introduction. In response, Zach, an enthusiastic participant in dorm hall activities, made it his mission to exclude Cat from sand volleyball games, bluff hikes, and trips to the dining hall as a way to get back at her. As their new college friend group grew, Cat and Zach found themselves spending more and more time together. Over the course of the year, they realized they were much fonder of each other than they originally thought, as their friendship grew quickly and naturally. So it came as no surprise when Zach asked Cat out during their sophomore year. While that first relationship didn’t last, somewhere between a rocky ski trip date, moving just one house away from each other on State Street, Cat’s graduation and move back to Milwaukee, and Zach’s graduation, the two found their way back to one another - this time officially. On October 25th of last year, more than four years after making it official, Zach brought Cat back to their freshman-year dorm and asked her to marry him. It was only fitting that their same college friend group was there to surprise her and celebrate! This July, Cat and Zach will be back in La Crosse, where it all began, beyond excited to celebrate their love with friends and family from both sides of the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.
