It was 1986 and the beginning of 7th grade at John Page Middle School in Madison Heights (#MADLOVE) and I was working in the main office because on an ear injury from swim class. That day in October was Michael's first day of school so I met him as he came into the office to get his schedule and locker assignment. Needless to say it wasn't long before we started dating and it was a great friendship and understanding of each other even at a young age. Fast forward a few years and we were forced to break up over a "family disagreement" and let's leave it at that. So for Michael and I teenage life had a way of taking us down two very different roads. Really fast forward now to January 2, 2016 and I am out with a work friend to catch up and have a few beers. My girlfriend takes me to a tiny bar in her neck of the woods where I obviously know no one. With my back to the front of the bar my girlfriend says she thinks she knows the guy who just walked in wearing a Michigan sweater. I look over my shoulder and say "No you don't, I do, it's Michael Henson". I got up from the bar stool walked over, waited patiently while he finished talking and got his attention. At first he didn't even recognize me. I had to say my name and about halfway into my last name he realized who I was and gave that Home Alone shocked face, lol! We have been inseparable ever since. We knew how well we got along back when we were 12-14 years old and what that feeling was that connected us to each other back then was really REAL LOVE. We surely know now and appreciate it everyday, not taking it for granted. We are truly blessed to have found each other again after 28 years apart. We both had lessons and lives we led but God has brought us back together again. We love all of you and hope you can see how much we truly love each and have found our peace, love and joy in each other.
