The exact date of our first meeting is hotly contested, but we can both agree that our first date was in September 2014. Ethan and I decided to go to dinner after a work event, and then to an open-mic night at a mutual friend's house. I told him that I would meet him at the restaurant. Per usual for me, I got lost and ended up being 30 minutes late for our date! Ethan was so patient and gracious about the whole thing, and we ended up staying at the restaurant for hours talking and laughing. That was the first night of our life together.
By March, 2018, we had made a pretty great life together. We had adopted a dog, Cash, and were living in Oxford, MS. We had talked about getting married, but I wasn't sure when Ethan would propose. While on spring break in 2018, Ethan took me to one of our favorite places in my hometown, Pogue's Distillery. This distillery is seated on the banks of the Ohio River and is housed in a huge white house with a beautiful porch that overlooks the river. At the end of the tour, Ethan took me to the porch and the distillery master asked if we would like some pictures. We started posing and when I turned to face Ethan, he was on one knee. He asked me to be his best friend and partner for the rest of our lives, and I said yes!
