To do this online, you can click the RSVP tab above which will prompt you on how to RSVP. On your invite, there will be a QR code that will take you to our website. If you aren't able to do this, you can also RSVP by mail using the card in your invite.
Please let us know if you're coming or not by October 15th. We would appreciate responses as early as possible though. Things get crazy with the holidays and we want to make sure we have plenty of time to prepare for your arrival.
Iowa City Parking can be tough and typically comes with a small price. For the ceremony, street parking would be the best and closest option, but is metered parking on Saturdays. There is a ramp in the area, or if you want to brave the cold, you can walk from the hotel. It is just under 1/2 mile. Uber and Lyft are available. The reception venue is 10 minutes from downtown and has ample free parking.
All of our events are indoors. Depending on your parking situation for the ceremony, you may have a short walk. For the reception, there is a parking lot just outside of the venue. Iowa weather in December is typically between 20 degrees to 40 degrees during the day, so plan accordingly and check the weather apps!
Guests may start arriving at 1:30pm at the earliest, but please arrive no later than 1:55pm to allow time for parking and finding a seat before the ceremony starts at 2:00pm.
We kindly ask that all phones are put away and silenced during the ceremony and mass. We trust our photographers to capture the moment, and we would rather have you be present with us.
Black Tie Optional. For our winter wedding, we prefer dark colors. Ideally floor-length gowns for women and suits/tuxes for men. Think black, navy, dark green, etc. We kindly ask that you avoid lighter shades reserved for the bride and no jeans, please.
If your invite includes "[Your Name] and Guest" on it, you are able to have a plus one. Please do not bring a guest, unless this is indicated. Due to vendors needing our final counts and venue capacity, we need to stay within a specific number of guest and have narrow margins.
No. We hope you understand that due to venue restrictions and our personal wishes, we are not able to accommodate children at our wedding. We are keeping our special day as an adults-only event, and we hope that you will still be able to attend.
We have a block of rooms reserved at The Graduate Hotel, which is where the welcome party will be. It is at the heart of downtown and one of the closest hotels for the ceremony. You're welcome to stay elsewhere, but we would love to have you stay near us. Also it is at a discounted rate and includes parking. See the "travel" tab for information on how to book (online it will say "sold out").
At the moment, we have not arranged any transportation to the ceremony or reception. Please designate a driver or rely on Uber/Lyft. We'll let you know if this changes!
