Minwoo and Cathy’s love story began long before they even knew it. Growing up in Riverside, CA, their lives seemed to run parallel, almost as if the universe was waiting for the perfect moment to bring them together. They both attended Harvest Church Bible study in the 3rd grade, lived near each other around Riverside Plaza, and yet somehow, they never crossed paths—until fate finally intervened. The first time Minwoo laid eyes on Cathy was in 7th grade at Earhart Middle School, where they both shared a math class. Cathy immediately caught his attention, and he couldn’t help but feel drawn to her warmth and beauty. Minwoo, gathering all his courage, planned to introduce himself through a mutual friend, but before he could, Cathy switched classes. As she slipped out of sight, Minwoo wondered if he’d ever see her again. Years passed, then one ordinary day in sophomore year of high school, something extraordinary happened. As Minwoo walked out of his science class, he saw her—the girl that had caught his attention in middle school. Cathy was standing with two friends, and without hesitation, Minwoo walked right next to her and introduced himself. From that moment, his world felt brighter whenever she was around. With excitement, Minwoo invited Cathy and her friends to a Friday night Bible study at his church. That one small invitation led to more—movie nights, beach trips, snowboarding trips, and simple moments together. Overtime, their friendship blossomed into something undeniable. Minwoo knew there was something special about Cathy—a connection that felt like it had always been there, waiting to be discovered. On December 19th, 2007, with his heart pounding, Minwoo finally asked Cathy the question that had been on his mind: “Will you be my girlfriend?” She said yes, and that’s when their love story truly began. Over the next fifteen years, they grew together—supporting and learning from one another through the ups and downs of life. Every adventure brought them closer, every challenge made them stronger, and every shared dream deepened their bond. Then, on May 15, 2022, at the same place where Minwoo had first asked Cathy to be his girlfriend, he knelt down on one knee, and asked her to be his forever. Now, after all these years, Minwoo and Cathy are ready to begin their next chapter, excited to continue this beautiful journey as husband and wife.
