We're Getting Married!

Cathy and I met at the Kennedy School of Government when we were both graduate students at Harvard in 2014. One night after a Harvard ball event, we went to an after-party at a friend’s house, where I found a cello. Growing up as a cellist, I was encouraged by my friends to play a song. As I started to play a Bach piece, I noticed Cathy sitting right in front of me across the room. As the romantic music swung, I somehow looked into her eyes. I realized Cathy was so beautiful and elegant. Her red lipsticks, her smile, and her dress were all so pretty and have been engraved in my mind ever since. From that moment, I knew I fell for Cathy. On 26th of May 2015, we started to date and the rest is history.

Having dated for 2 years, I found Cathy a very attractive girl with a great sense of humor, infinite sources of happiness & genuine love to life and people around her. Experiencing numerous ups & downs in both of our lives, we have always been supportive & encouraging to each other. Cathy is such a wise & kind woman that I knew she was the one, whom I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. In May 2017, I decided to propose to her. I bought the engagement ring & asked all our best friends to record well wishes, and schemed the proposal with 40 Harvard students on our trip to volunteer at a refugee camp in the Greek island of Lesvos. On the last day of our meaningful trip, 20th of May 2017, all 40 students gathered at a roof-top restaurant near the Acropolis in Athens. Not knowing my plan, Cathy burst into tears when the lights all of a sudden turned off & our best friends slideshow of wishes turned on a projector. Music started right after the footage while I walked into a spotlight singing & dancing with four other guys on “My Eyes Adored You”. And finally, she said Yes!

Cathy is graduating from Harvard on 24th of May 2018, two days from our 3rd anniversary. We believe it is the perfect timing for us to get married upon her graduation and our anniversary, when our four parents and dozens of good friends will come from China to celebrate. It would be of a remarkable memory for us to get married at Harvard, where we first met, fell in love, and spent most of our time together. Harvard has witnessed our love and will testify our destiny for eternity. Harvard Memorial Church, the center of Harvard Yard & the first building of Harvard University, will hold our wedding on 3rd of June 2018. It is our greatest honor to invite you to join us and share these happiness & precious memories of our lives on this special day!
