Things To Do

Atlanta Botanical Garden

1345 Piedmont Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30309

Worth a visit if you love pretty gardens and are looking to spend some time walking outside!

High Museum of Art

1280 Peachtree Road Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30309

The High Museum is Atlanta's nicest and biggest art museum (in our opinion).

Piedmont Park

1322 Monroe Drive, Atlanta, GA 30306

Piedmont Park is an Atlanta staple. It is one of our biggest public parks and borders our Midtown, Ansley Park and Morningside neighborhoods. A perfect place to go on a walk, take a picnic, and enjoy nice weather with views of the Midtown skyline in the background.

Ponce City Market

675 North Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30344

Food hall with lots of restaurant options and shopping next to the eastside section of the Atlanta Beltline.

Krog Street Market

99 Krog Street Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307

Converted industrial warehouse area along the Eastside Beltline with a food hall and shops. Good option for a place to grab lunch and/or a drink and you can jump on the Beltline and head north through Inman Park towards Ponce and then Piedmont Park or south to Cabbagetown and Reynoldstown.

Georgia Aquarium

225 Baker Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313

A great activity with kids (or without)! The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the US and even offers some really cool experiences and encounters that you can book ahead of time.

Zoo Atlanta

800 Cherokee Avenue Southeast, Atlanta, GA 30315

Another good option for kids while in town or anyone who wants to visit a zoo. The neighborhood surrounding the zoo is Grant Park and the Zoo is located in the southern end of the city park with the same name. Cathryn lived in Grant Park for years and used to live close enough to the zoo to be able to hear the elephants!

Inman Park

299 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307

Fun neighborhood to explore! There is no way Cathryn could make a list of things to do in Atlanta without talking about fun neighborhoods to check out. If you need to plug in a spot for directions to get to Inman Park, try the intersection of N Highland Avenue and Elizabeth Street NE. Street parking is free but there are also public parking garages off N Highland if you can't find a free street spot. The Beltline is just to the west of N Highland and the majority of the neighborhood is to the east. There are good restaurants and bars down N Highland. Jonathan and Cathryn met and went on their first date in this area!

Virginia-Highland

1034 N Highland Ave, Atlanta, GA 30306

Classic Atlanta neighborhood not far from the wedding venue with good restaurants and shops down N Highland Ave. The center of the neighborhood and shopping/restaurant district is where N Highland Avenue and Virginia Avenue intersect.

Bomb Biscuit Atlanta

668 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30312

Made the 2024 Michelin Bib Gourmand list. Also happens to be where Jonathan and Cathryn met.

Fishmonger

674 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306

Seafood restaurant that Jonathan and Cathryn give 4 thumbs up. Tiny restaurant but big on taste. The blackened grouper caesar salad is Jonathan's favorite as well as former President Barack Obama's. The fancy oysters are worth the trip at very least. Located walking distance from Cathryn's old condo and Jonathan and Cathryn would go frequently.

Victory Sandwich Bar

913 Bernina Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307

Good casual sandwich spot in Inman Park with a good sized patio!

Blind Willie's

828 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306

Where Jonathan took Cathryn after dinner on their second date. Fun spot with live music six nights a week.

Highland Tap

1026 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306

First of all, Atlanta is full of amazing restaurants and really is a foodie city. The list of restaurants that are worth checking out is way too long to compile here. But if you are in the mood for a casual neighborhood steakhouse that is literally underground, Highland Tap is a fun place to visit.
