Will and Cat met through a mutual friend, and when Cat asked about what Will was like, their friend said "extroverted, a little nerdy, but I'll let you figure out the rest!" Their first date was at Sycamore Brewery and it was constant talking for three hours, and they immediately knew they had met their loquacious match. Will likes to claim that he was "misled" about Cat's love for the outdoors from her then recent trip to Montana, where she went on a sixteen mile hike. However, he soon found out that love really consisted mostly of lying on a beach. The couple spent the next three years going on many hiking, camping, and snowboarding trips for Will; and many beach trips, boating expeditions, and country concerts for Cat. They currently live in Charlotte, NC together at their beautiful new home with Johnny Cash, their warmhearted, full-of-life 4-year old golden retriever.

Will and Cat had a vacation planned with her family to charter around the British Virgin Islands in January 2023. Cat continuously talked to Will about how this place was her favorite spot in the whole world and couldn't wait to share it with him. Will had asked her dad for her hand - with a resounding yes and fist bump - and in December he and her family began scheming the plan to propose over the trip. Four days in, they anchored at Long Bay on Virgin Gorda right near her ever favorite Bitter End Yacht Club, and the captain took them ashore talking about the great shells you could find on the beach. The whole family went for a walk and began to take photos in front of the immaculate views. When Will and Cat went to get their photo, Will got down on one knee and surprised Cat with a proposal right there on the beach. Of course, she said yes, and Will had hidden a cooler of champagne on the beach to celebrate their new beginning. Will and Cat are beyond excited to start this next chapter together, and cannot wait to share this special time with you!
