It was a sunny, warm summer Sunday. 90's hits were bumpin, drinks were flowing, and lots of dancing being done at the best outdoor party of the season. There was a girl wearing Elton John style sunglasses with a smile like sunshine. There was a guy dancing and showing off his legs with short shorts on. We met on June 28th, 2015, and both had a feeling it was the beginning of something very special. Covered in smiley face stickers, as everyone is at Boardy Barn, we broke out our best dance moves. When she accidentally knocked my drink right out of my hand, we laughed and she bought me a new one right away. What a gentleman, I thought. She told him that she liked his short shorts, and that she had never been to Westchester but would love to see it. We got to know each other for hours that day, (we event sent Cat's mom a picture together) and eventually shared our first kiss of many more to come. One adorable Cat named Pumpkin, two apartments on either shore of Westchester, and almost four years of memories later, we have settled into our beautiful Co-Op as first time homeowners in Mamaroneck, NY. We'd love to have you come visit and are so excited to have you be a part of our special day!
"BABE, I WON A TRIP THROUGH WORK!" This was the text Cat received mid September. I explained that after a year of being at my new job, I had won a trip for two to Austria thanks to my hard work putting me at the top of my starting class. She knew this was not unusual, as my own boss had been to Hawaii only a few months prior. We gathered our passports, and before the end of the week had a full blown itinerary and plane tickets in our hands. Oddly enough, it included a Swarovski Museum tour. Cat is OBSESSED with anything Swarovski. Fast forward a few weeks later, and we landed in Austria! Tired, but excited to be in a beautiful new country riddled with snowcapped mountains, we checked into our chic hotel, freshened up, and started exploring. We enjoyed the crisp air, local grub, welcoming smiles, and wandering the bicycle ridden streets. We got back to our hotel and got ready for the Tour of Swarovski Museum followed by a "Black Tie" dinner. The thirty minute uber offered a warm sunset and countryside view on our way to the museum, dressed to the 9's. Our private tour guide greeted us by name upon arrival, and told us we were in store for various installments highlighting Swarovski crystals via different artists interpretations - most importantly, via many senses. "You will see, smell, touch, and hear these installations, so take it all in," she said. We saw a crystal diamond ring as big as a couch, heard the sounds of birds chirping surrounded by sparkling spring colored flowers. Finally, we came to the top of a set of stairs when our tour guide turned to say "This next room in particular is quite special. Being in the room and THEN seeing it is totally different than just walking in, so please put on these blindfolds." I helped Cat put her blindfold on, and we were led by our hands down the stairs and into the room. When she opened her eyes, I was facing her, smiling. I got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of my life with me. She.Said.Yes!
