Zeke here... It all started when I walked into a grimy Austin jazz club called the Elephant Room. I was there to meet a group of folks from my small group, and, taking the last open seat, I found myself sitting next to Catherine. She seemed a little overwhelmed by the bustling, crowded bar and earsplitting trumpets, so I decided to try to make her laugh and relax a little. We chatted and laughed together for the next hour, and she ended up asking for a ride back to her car. I was certain she wanted me to ask her out, but by the end of the ride, I had convinced myself that I was reading too far into things. I didn't ask her out that night, but clearly she had made an impression, because I couldn't stop thinking about her. For the next month, I obsessed about finding the right moment to ask her out. Of course, "right moments" are more myth than reality, so eventually I settled for a phone call. After a few months, we made it official at the Wildflower Center. We dated for nigh on two years, then I asked her to marry me, at the Wildflower Center and she said yes! We are excited to spend the rest of our lives together!
