The Location: Murphy's North in Boulder, CO The Story: Cat doesn't remember what her online dating profile looked like, but Zack's referenced "legal disclaimers," sarcasm, sharing stories, and dogs (yes, Cat still has a screenshot of Zack's profile). On our first date, our conversation quickly turned to all of the taboo topics - and we were intrigued to find that our ideals were congruent, even though our perspectives and opinions were not identical. We haven't stopped having those conversations since.

The Location: The Wave in Coyote Buttes, AZ. The Story: When Zack told Cat that he had won a permit to do this hike, all she knew was that (1) it was really hard to get that permit, (2) she needed to train for this hike, which would be on an unmarked trail in the middle of a desert, and (3) the views from The Wave would make it all worth it. As the trip got closer, we saw that the weather was going to be stormy, so we packed our Yactrax and hoped for the best. The night before our trip, our guide called us to confirm that we still wanted to do the hike even though they were calling for a white out blizzard. Once Cat was out of earshot, Zack explained why we couldn't turn back now. About half a day (and half a ton of gummy worms later), Zack got down on one knee and - well, you're here, so you know the rest.
