Question

Will there be transportation available?

Answer

There will be! No transportation will be provided for the service, but St. John's has a parking lot you will be able to use. For the reception, we will have one 24 person shuttle departing from the Home2Suites in Dulles at 5:30 PM, and two 24 person shuttles departing from the Leesburg Home2Suites at 5:30 PM. At the end of the reception, we will have the shuttles running on a loop. At 9:30 PM, one 24 person shuttle will depart from Cana back to the Home2Suites in Dulles, and two 24 person shuttles will depart from Cana to the Home2Suites in Leesburg. We will have another loop running for departure at the end of the night.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail is fine for both the ceremony and the reception.

Question

What time is the ceremony? What time is the reception?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 2:00 PM at St. John's in Leesburg. The reception will start with a cocktail hour at 6:00 PM at Cana Vineyards in Middleburg.

Question

Is the ceremony inside or outside? How about the reception?

Answer

The ceremony will be held inside the church. The reception will be held in the event space at Cana Vineyards. It is an open event space, but in the event of rain they have protective siding they will roll down. The cocktail hour portion of the reception is in a covered space, but open to the outside. The venue also has a tasting room that is entirely indoors and available to use during the reception.

Question

What am I supposed to do with my 3 hours between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

We know, we know - that's a big chunk of time! We apologize for the gap but we encourage you to take this time to catch up with friends and family. The downtown area of Leesburg is accessible from the church if you would like to explore the area - there are a lot of cute shops, restaurants, breweries, and more to fill your time in the interim. You can also head out to Middleburg a little early as an alternative option, as Middleburg's downtown area is only a few miles from the venue. It also has shops, restaurants, a cider barn, and even an absinthe distillery to explore. A third option is just to head to Cana early! You can watch them set up and be first in line at the cocktail bar. Cana is open until 5:30 PM on October 14, so you will be able to grab some wine and snacks prior to the event. If you are planning on taking transportation to the venue, please arrive back at one of the hotels by 5:15 in order to catch the bus.
