It all started back in February 2021 when my friend Brooklynn invited Georgia and me to a birthday party at a shop. We weren’t totally sold on going, but Brooklynn promised we’d love the group and have a blast — so, we went. As soon as we walked in, I spotted Tyler across the room and immediately told the girls, “I call dibs.” The night was full of shotgunning beers, nonstop laughter, and some very obvious flirting from Tyler (even though he kept insisting I was “too young” for him — I was 19, turning 20 the next month; he was 25, about to turn 26 in April). At one point, we were standing outside talking with our friend Timmy, and despite Tyler’s protests about the age difference, I decided I was going to kiss him… so I did. The rest of the night was a blur of fun, and we went our separate ways — but not for long. We started texting and Snapchatting right after, and within a few days, we hung out again. (He continued flirting with me while still trying to convince Georgia I was too young — nice try.) Not long after, we had our first official date, and the rest is history. Had it not been for Brookylnn convincing us to go to that party, I may have never met Tyler, and we wouldn't be where we are today.
