Our StoryOur Story

It all started with a message… and a technology glitch. We met on Facebook Dating. Travis reached out, we exchanged a few messages, and then he sent a GIF… and the conversation immediately died. Cassie never got it. From Travis’s perspective? He got ghosted. Thankfully, he’s persistent. Five days later, he tried again—and this time, it worked. That second message turned into an eight-hour phone call that somehow lasted until 4 a.m. We talked about everything, laughed a lot, and hung up thinking the same thing: okay… this feels different. Ten days later, we had our first date. Travis showed up freshly showered, ready for a date. Cassie showed up in what Travis lovingly describes as a “messy bun and stained sweatshirt, ready to chow down at Chili’s. She was like no other first date I ever had, and that is when she hooked me in.” Travis insisted we sit on the same side of the booth, which pretty much set the tone for everything that followed close, comfortable, and on the same team from day one. From the start, things were easy conversation flowed, we understood each other, and what began as fun quickly became something real. It didn’t take long for both of us to realize: this is our person. What makes us work is simply that we show up. Cassie loves that Travis is steady, reliable, and always does what he says he will do. Travis loves the way Cassie brings people together and takes care of everyone she loves. Family means everything to both of us, and that shared value is at the heart of our relationship. The proposal? Very on brand. Travis had a whole plan at La Costa Coffee. The idea was to wait until Cassie went to the restroom so he could recruit strangers to secretly record the moment. The only problem? Cassie stopped to chat with a stranger… and never actually made it to the restroom. Plan officially abandoned. Persistence paid off again. Travis proposed in the car while we were taking one of our coffee date selfies. No big setup, no audience—just us. And honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Now here we are, getting married and excited to start our next chapter together: more life, more laughter, more coffee dates, travel and continuing to show up for each other every day. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you who have been such an important part of our story. What Cassie says about Travis: Travis is my calm and the person who truly feels like home. I have never laughed more than I have by his side, and I am so grateful to have found a person who brings such steady peace to my life. He has a way of grounding me, making me feel truly seen and understood, and turning even the most ordinary moments into something special. He will drop anything to be there for me, for the boys, or for our families, and that kind of love and reliability means everything to me. I am so lucky to walk through life with my best friend, my partner, and the person I get to choose every day. What Travis says about Cassie: Cassie is my partner in life. Life is so much better with her by my side. She’s incredibly supportive of me and of the girls. Countless times I’ve sat back in awe as she gives guidance or advice to those she loves. She’s an incredibly insightful woman who I love and admire. Beyond being an incredible person and giving to those she loves, she also brings a levity to life that makes everything so much more fun. She’s my "celebrate the difference", my Mighty Oak, and my best friend.
