We're Getting Married!

We met at work. One fateful afternoon, there was a big meeting. We sat near each other. Steve cracked a joke that no one but Catie laughed at. Outside the meeting, Catie introduced herself to Steve. Later, Catie gushed to another coworker how cute she thought Steve was and we set up a plan to hang out. We hit it off right away, and Catie basically just never left!

It was Steve's birthday. Catie had been sick and off work for a few days. Steve is all about traditions though, and told Catie there was an important birthday tradition of walking down to the River Walk, so we put our coats on and went for a walk! We walked through the park and soon were right off Lake Michigan near the Shedd Aquarium, admiring a nearby duck in the water. Steve pointed behind Catie and said "Oh my God, is that your mom??" Catie's mom works downtown, so she easily turned to see if it was really her mom. When she turned back, Steve was down on one knee with the ring out. He gave a heartwarming speech, promising to love both Catie and Rodger forever and Catie said heck yes!! We then had dinner with Steve's family to tell them the great news and spent the night out on the town having drinks together.
