Sean was in the audience, on a date at Charlotte Comedy Theater, when he saw Catherine performing. His soul was deeply touched by her impression of a NY Italian dude, and he immediately lost eyes for his date. For months, Catherine still had no idea Sean existed! Until, one muggy summer night, a mutual friend invited them both to a Drag Show. They drank, they danced, things at the bar were bizarre and Sean offered Catherine a ride home. She politely said, "Mm, no thanks!" and off she went. But...at least they had finally met for real! A year passed and they became close friends, bonding over comedians, movies. They never hung out alone though, until one night, a planned group hang out fell apart. With nothing else to do for the night, they decided to still grab dinner, just the two of them. This night, March 9, 2015 (we...think?) was our first date.
It was a freezing cold night in Upstate NY, the night after Christmas. We had just gotten back to Catherine's parents' house from a dinner out with the family when Sean dropped down to one knee and told Catherine how much he loved her and burst into tears. It was simple, no-frills, and honest. It was the best night ever.
Planning a wedding during the pandemic has been nothing short of a nightmare come true! Although it's been a tough year for the entire world, we've had each other through it all. We know and cherish how lucky we are for that. We are excited to finally share our special day with a small group of family and friends! A much smaller celebration than we had originally planned, we hope you'll enjoy a weekend of southern sunshine in our beautiful little neighborhood!
