Chicago Architecture Center River Cruise
See Chicago’s iconic skyline from the water on a guided boat tour along the Chicago River. One of our early dates was on this tour, and it remains one of our favorite ways to experience the city.

With one of the world’s best art collections, the Art Institute of Chicago is well worth a visit. Explore masterpieces from Monet to Van Gogh, and be sure to see Chagall’s stunning stained-glass America Windows — they’re one of our favorites.
Goose Island Salt Shed Pub
Goose Island's Salt Shed Pub is located along the Chicago River, right next to the Salt Shed music venue. The pub offers a rotating selection of Goose Island's iconic brews, along with a seasonal menu of elevated bar bites. With a spacious riverfront patio and relaxed, industrial vibe, it's one of our favorite spots to gather before or after a show.
The Pearl Club
Located just across the street from our reception venue, The Pearl Club is a popular cocktail lounge known for its comfortable, upscale setting and expertly crafted cocktails. Consider grabbing a drink here before the reception or continuing the celebration afterward.
D'Amato's Bakery
A true Chicago gem since 1970, D'Amato's Bakery is famous for its wood-fired Italian bread, fresh pastries, and classic cannoli. Located in the heart of West Town, this family-owned bakery is perfect for a quick bite or a sweet treat while exploring the city. Try their Vodka Chicken Parm or Chicken Cesar Sub - our personal favorites!
Green Street Smoked Meats
Tucked down a brick-paved alley in Chicago's West Loop, Green Street Smoked Meats serves flavorful, Central Texas-inspired BBQ at the counter in a relaxed, warehouse-style setting. It operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with seating available for parties of 1-12 guests. We especially love the elote, brisket and macaroni salad.
The Goddess and Grocer - Fulton Market
Goddess and the Grocer offers fresh options for dining in or takeout. With a large selection of items including coffee, salads, sandwiches, snacks, beer/wine and sweet treats, it’s a great spot for a quick, quality meal or to grab something on the go. Try the Grilled Chicken Club (Mike's favorite!) and a matcha lemonade.
Mario's Italian Lemonade
Located in Chicago's Little Italy, Mario's Italian Lemonade has been serving hand-crafted frozen lemonades since 1954. We live in the nearby Pilsen neighborhood and have to resist visiting multiple times a week during the summer! The classic lemon and cherry mix is a local favorite.
