We met on a dating app. We didn’t force it; we didn’t avoid it. We both weren’t looking, but we both couldn’t deny something special was happening. After 2 quick years filled with moving in together, becoming homeowners, surviving a pandemic, and midnight beach and hotdog trips we decided to tie the knot.
I was in my last year of graduate school when I met Luis, back in 2018. After three months of getting to know eachother I finally said yes to a date. Everything seemed to fall into place after that. I graduated in May, and by July I was living in San Antonio with Luis working my first professional job. Our first year together was full of beach trips, ramen, and lots of dog walks. Our second year together we were able to fulfill a shared goal of buying a home. This is our third year together, and my favorite memory will be getting to marry him — my favorite person. Luis is everything I could ask for in a partner. He is encouraging, intelligent, and confident in himself. His jokes and random facts are just a bonus.
After fighting a strong conviction to propose to Catherine, Luis decided he couldn’t wait any longer. He grabbed Catherine and took off to the city to find the best place to pop the question. After thinking back to what makes San Antonio so special to Luis, he knew it would have to be at The Alamo. In the last hours of the day, Luis got down on one knee and asked Catherine to join him in all the adventures for rest of his life.
