George W. Bush Presidential Center
The Bush Library is located on SMU's campus - Catherine and Keaten's alma mater! Take a stroll through campus and stop by the museum for a dose of presidential history. If you get hungry, grab a bite at Café 43 right next door!
Dallas Museum of Art
Located right next to the Nasher, the Dallas Museum of Art is a focal point of the Dallas Arts District. Stop by to see Egyptian Art, Impressionist Paintings and everything in between. Plus, it's free to the public, so it is a great way to experience the Dallas art scene.
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
66 acres of gardens and greenery! A wonderful place to spend the day. ~15 minutes from downtown Dallas.
Katy Trail Ice House
Ice House is a true Dallas staple. Located right off the Katy Trail (Dallas' longest walking/running path), it's a perfect outdoor spot where you can grab a beer and see some of the cutest pups in Dallas. Catherine and Keaten recommend ordering a summer beer and loaded cheese fries for the table!
Sixty Vines
Sixty Vines is one of Catherine and Keaten's favorite spots in Dallas - and it's located right next to the Hotel Crescent Court. Named for its 60 wines on tap, Sixty Vines is a perfect spot for a quick drink or a full Italian spread. Plus, the spacious seating makes it great for large groups!
El Fenix
Authentic TexMex! A wonderful Dallas staple in downtown Dallas. They have awesome enchiladas and margs. Great for large groups.
Torchy's Tacos
Texas is known for tacos! Torchy’s is a favorite amongst SMU students and is right off of campus. Catherine recommends the Queso to share and the Democrat and Baja Shrimp tacos. Keaten recommends the Trailer Park and the Migas tacos.
Yolk - One Arts Plaza
A yummy brunch spot just a short walk from the Nasher. Known for their large portions and fun pancake flavors - you can’t go wrong! Pro tip: you can join their waitlist on Yelp to avoid a long wait on the weekends.
