Question

Where is the Dominican Republic?

Answer

The Caribbean! Typically, you'll fly into Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), located conveniently close to many popular resorts. The main language is Spanish, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas. You'll enjoy a warm, tropical climate with stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes, a passport is necessary. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your intended date of travel. If your passport is due to expire before you travel, you will need to renew your Passport; failure to do so may prevent you from traveling or entering back into the States. If you need to apply for a new Passport or renew your Passport for this trip, you need to begin the process immediately. It may take 6 or more months to get the Passport in time for travel (so do it now if you want to come!). If you need further information on passport procedures, check the Dominican Republic Embassy website at: do.usembassy.gov/

Question

Are major credit cards accepted?

Answer

Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted in the Dominican Republic. Before traveling, it's a good idea to contact your credit card company or bank to inform them of your trip, as they may place a security block on unusual foreign transactions. Be aware that some credit card companies charge a 1% - 2% international transaction fee, but you can sometimes avoid this by adjusting your plan in advance.

Question

Do I need to exchange money?

Answer

No. USD cash is accepted.

Question

Is tipping customary in the Dominican Republic?

Answer

Tipping in the Dominican Republic is not mandatory. Though tipping resort employees is highly recommended. It's ideal to bring $1s, $5, & $10s USD).

Question

What's the wedding attire?

Answer

*Beach Semi-Formal* Think "cocktail beachwear" — semi-formal yet beach-friendly. For women, breezy maxi or midi dresses, jumpsuits, or sundresses in lightweight fabrics with dressy sandals, wedges, or chunky heels are ideal. For men, linen or cotton pants with a short-sleeve button-down, polo, or fun blazer work well. Loafers or boat shoes are great. Bring a wrap for the evening chill.

Question

What should I wear outside of the wedding?

Answer

We'll be at the resort every day, so make sure to be comfortable. However, it's also our wedding, and we'll be taking lots of photos, so bring some great outfits too :) And don't forget, it's the beach with multiple pools everywhere, so embrace those summer vibes (even in March!).

Question

What's the weather like in March?

Answer

Expect warm sunny weather in the 70s-80s (but of course anything can happen).

Answer

Question

Question
