After accidentally meeting on day one of orientation, Catherine assumed she would soon forget about the "suspiciously friendly" average Joe sitting next to her. Little did she know he would soon be sitting on her bed in North Hall, quickly emptying her box of fruit snacks while both hiding from their roommates. Somehow their schedules seemed to line up a little too perfectly: Morning workouts (Joe: football, Catherine: swimming), followed by breakfast at Lang, They would return from class and binge watch "Lost." They found comfort in Friday nights in during football season and built what will be a lifelong friendship. They spent four years at Baldwin Wallace, collecting lifelong friends who will join them down the aisle, and memories they will tell their grandchildren. Catherine spent Saturday afternoons on the sidelines of George Finnie Stadium and Saturday nights at the football houses quickly going from "kicker's girlfriend" to "Catherine!" Joe spent weekend evenings in the seats of Gamble Auditorium learning to appreciate and even enjoying hours upon hours of music sung and directed by Catherine. The two joined the work-force in 2017, each with a job in their field of study. This moment was second only to getting their dog, Theo that September. Fast forward to 2020 and after talking with both families, Joe designed a ring using the diamonds from his grandmother's wedding band and made a plan. The two spent the day together and started a hike from Hinckley Reservation to the Simonis' house. Just past Worden's Ledges Joe stopped and turned to Catherine and got down on one knee. It was the perfect moment, just the two of them doing what they loved with their pup. The Massiellos and Simonises were there to greet them and celebrate as they stepped out of the woods. Catherine and Joe plan to stay at their house in Middleburg Heights for the next few years and eventually find a larger place so Theo can have some siblings. Thank you all for your part in our story.
