Two serendipitous run ins: 1) The N Judah Train in San Francisco, and 2) Walking the East Village in New York City

The first time we met was on our commute home from the Box.com Office in San Francisco. We were co-workers but never interacted at work and worked on different sides of the building. On January 2018, Jack approached Catherine on the N Judah train back to their neighboring areas of Cole Valley and Corona Heights in San Francisco. Jack recognized Catherine from work and mentioned he was moving to New York City to work for Box.com there. Catherine mentioned her sisters lived in New York City, and that she may move out by the end of the year. Then they both went on their way.

Seven months later, Catherine also moved to New York City to work for Box.com. After a couple casual run-ins in the office, the two were still barely acquainted. However! One night on November 30th, 2018, Jack was on his way to a birthday party in the East Village (s/o Leland and Peter!), and Catherine was coming home from her own hangout (s/o Myles, Mandy and David). On this serendipitous run-in, Jack (finally!) asked for her number and if she wanted to go to the party he was on his way to. Quickly, Catherine scrambled and found her beloved sister Sarah, and her friend Yazmine to come attend the party. By the next week, they were on their first formal date at Ivan Ramen and the rest is history!
