We met on a dating app in January 2016. After a month of talking, we decided to meet in person. Miles drove to Baton Rouge from Lafayette and we met at a small get together at a friend's house. We didn't know it at the time, but we were both so nervous. Miles walked up to me and instantly gave me the biggest hug. Little did I know, I was hugging my HUSBAND! Despite such a great meet up, several months went by (9 to be exact!) and we continued texting and snap chatting, but never made any other plans to hang out. Then, one day in September 2016, Miles texted and asked me to come to Lafayette for a UL football game. I was so giddy and could not wait, but, of course I had to be cool. So, I waited a whole 2 minutes before texting back. From that weekend on, we never went a week without seeing each other. We spent the next 4 years taking turns driving back and forth between Lafayette and Baton Rouge to see each other. Then, in August 2020 our weekend trips came to an end when we bought a house together! We have taken so many journeys together...college graduations, law school, home ownership, puppy parenthood, and we can't wait for our next adventure as Mr. & Mrs. Carrier!
