Public Health Guidelines

Please see below for common questions related to public health guidelines. We are really looking forward to our wedding day with you, however you decide to participate! Question

What are the current public health guidelines in Evanston? What about the venues?

Answer

We are adhering to the guidelines issued by the state of Illinois and our two venues – St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and the Peckish Pig. The city of Evanston is in Cook County. New CDC guidelines apply to the level of transmission in Cook County and Chicago. Masks are now strongly recommended indoors for everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Both venues adhere to these same guidelines.

Question

Will we be outside? Inside? Both?

Answer

Both of our venues will make use of indoor space. The ceremony is at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, where we will have some communal singing and also invite everyone forward to participate in the Lord’s Supper (no common chalice). The reception is at the Peckish Pig. Cocktail hour will be on the outdoor patio, dinner and toasts indoors, and after-dinner dancing back out on the patio. For dinner indoors, everyone will be seated at a table with a group of 8-10 of your family or friends.

Question

What if I'm feeling concerned?

Answer

We completely understand that there are different levels of comfort as we re-open our public spaces. Please know that there is no pressure to participate in various activities or to attend at all if the context feels too uncomfortable or concerning. The ceremony will be live streamed, if you would rather participate that way. You can adjust your RSVP here on the website, should you decide not to participate in person. We trust our guests to be responsible. As we are adhering to the state guidelines, we hope that our wedding day can be free from concerns. If the state guidelines change, we will adjust accordingly.
