Eje Cafetero - The country's infamous coffee region: a unique landscape with palm trees, exotic flowers and of course, great coffee to try through various tasting tours! For the adventurous ones, you can explore the countryside through horse-back riding or river rafting. The region has two airports to choose from, located either in the city of Armenia or Pereira. We landed in Armenia and stayed at Hotel Mocawa Resort, a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature and the colours of traditional coffee fincas. Cartagena - Colombia's most historic and touristic city: travel back in time through vibrant streets, colourful architecture and amazing gastronomy that is preserved within the castle walls of its old town. Santa Marta - Along the same Caribbean coast as Cartagena: a beautifully preserved colonial city in close proximity to the beautiful Parque Tayrona, a large protected area covering the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta as they meet the Caribbean coast. San Andrés & Providencia - Colombia's two islands with pristine turquoise waters nicknamed the sea of 7 colours, great for snorkeling and diving.
With the countries ever changing landscape of mountains and valleys, road-trips can take a few extra hours. That's why we recommend flying! In addition to the national airline Avianca, LATAM Airlines, Wingo and Viva Air offer almost hourly flights between the major cities with travel times of approximately one-hour to fly corner-to-corner across the country.
