Covid-19 Update

Due to circumstances with Covid-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our originally planned wedding. We will be holding a small, intimate ceremony with immediate family in the Napa Valley area (Copain Wines | Healdsburg, CA). We thank everyone for their love and support during this time.

How We Met

January 18, 2014

Daniel and Catherine actually met back in undergrad at the University of Chicago in Fall 2010. Long story short: they met at Jimmy's (Woodlawn Tap in Hyde Park), he invited her to his fraternity's house party, and she told him she was busy. Unfortunately, that love was short lived. Daniel went off to Greece for his study abroad program, and Catherine graduated in 2011. Post graduation, they ran into each other at a bar in River North in January 2014. Catherine was out for her best friend's birthday (and current bridesmaid) and Daniel was out with his friends from Cincinnati. After spotting each other, they hung out and danced the night away. Daniel eventually got Catherine's number, asked her on a date, and the rest is history.

The Proposal

September 14, 2018

In Fall 2018, Daniel and Catherine planned a long getaway to the Amalfi Coast, Italy. During the first full day in Positano, Daniel had a dinner reservation booked at the dreamiest spot in Positano (Zass at the Il San Pietro di Positano). Catherine got ready and spent an hour sitting on their patio overseeing the coast and sipping sparkling rosé. Daniel spent that hour running around trying to figure out how to iron his shirt, canceling their planned sunset boat ride to the restaurant (due to rain), and figuring out how to get cash and a taxi to the restaurant before sunset. The pair eventually made it over to the restaurant in time. After the rain stopped, Daniel took Catherine out on the patio overseeing the entire city of Positano. While watching the sunset and sipping on champagne, Daniel got down on one knee and proposed. After many "oh my GOD" moments and Daniel asking again, Catherine said yes!
