If it’s your first time in Nantucket, we recommend staying in Town for the quintessential Nantucket experience—think cobblestone streets, charming shops, restaurants, and easy access to the harbor. If you’re looking for a more idyllic, village feel and want to be walking distance to wedding festivities, we recommend staying in Sconset. It’s a little quieter and more tucked away, with beautiful rose-covered cottage, a charming market, and a slower pace that feels classic Sconset.
A car isn’t necessary, but it can be helpful depending on how long you’re staying! The Wave, Nantucket’s local bus system, runs regularly between Town, Sconset, and other parts of the island, making it easy to get around without a car. We’ll have transportation to and from the wedding, and Nantucket has plenty of taxis and Uber. If you’re staying for a longer visit and want to explore more of the island at your own pace, we recommend renting a car for the extra flexibility.
Mid-June is beautiful in Nantucket—expect mild, sunny days in the upper 60s to low 70s and cooler, breezy evenings.. We recommend packing layers, wraps, and something for the occasional summer shower!
