Adam and Cat met in August of 2016 in a pit...an opera pit that is! Cat had taken a hiatus from the South Shore Symphony and was happily returning as Concertmaster. Adam was a newer member she had not met yet. The opera was “Carmen.” Both Adam and Cat were 1st violins, along with bridal party members Gregory Krajci and Lisa Quispe. The small section banded together to become fast friends right away. While Carmen and Don Jose did not fare well, Adam and Cat’s friendship flourished. They spent a lot of time together, and talked constantly. Adam got Cat to join his fitness group and she morphed into a much happier (and HOTTER) person. They went to concerts together. Adam came to Cat’s apartment when she was scared of strange noises late at night (but really she just wanted his company!). That Spring, the orchestra did Mahler’s Symphony No. 5. Both Greg and Lisa had to drop out, leaving Adam and Cat as standpartners. As they played next to each other in orchestra every week, being silly and making beautiful music, the feelings began to deepen (though neither of them would admit it!). Over the previous 8 months, many people had said to both of them that they should date, but both parties vehemently denied anything more than friendship. On April 18th, Adam came to Cat’s apartment to help hang curtain rods. What was supposed to be a quick errand turned into a 4 hour dance party! When Adam finally put on his coat to go, he pulled Cat in for their first kiss. They decided right then and there that it was worth giving this a shot, and the relationship was official as soon as it began. From then on everything shone a little brighter. Cat made Adam more focused and helped him rediscover his ambition. Adam balanced out Cat’s Type-A personality and helped her to be a more compassionate person. They moved in together in June of 2018, and Adam asked Cat to marry him on their 2 year anniversary, April 18th, 2019. They look forward to a lifetime of making music together.
