Duck Town Park & Boardwalk
The Duck Boardwalk stretches one mile along the Currituck Sound. The boardwalk connects 11 acres of trails, maritime forest and soundside views of Duck Town Park to shops, restaurants, and cafes including the original Duck Donuts. This is the perfect place for a leisurely walk with your morning coffee, or for anyone looking for the perfect spot to watch the sunset.
Wild Horse Adventure Tours
Thousands of visitors to the Outer Banks each year are captivated by wild horse sightings. While it is possible to drive yourself onto the 4x4 beaches to look for wild horses, there are several locally owned and operated wild horse tour companies in Corolla. Outer Banks horse tour companies offer knowledgeable guides who are experienced with driving on the 4-wheel drive beaches.
Take a Bike Ride
You'll find biking is a super easy and fun way to get around Duck. If you're an attendee of the wedding, complementary bikes are available at the Sanderling on a first come, first serve basis. Just stop by the front desk and give them your name and reference the wedding party to grab a bike for a weekend jaunt about town.

Currituck Beach Lighthouse
Climb the 220 steps to the Outer Banks' northernmost lighthouse to get your bearings with 360-degree views of the ocean, the sound, and of Corolla. Located in Historic Corolla Park, you'll also be able to take in the famous Whalehead Club museum.

Outer Banks Bluegrass Island Festival
Posting this one is dicey at best. We realize having our wedding during Bluegrass Fest weekend puts us at a high risk of attendee attrition for at least half of our guests. Believe us, we'd be there ourselves if we weren't, ya know...getting married. The festival runs from Thursday through Saturday with gates opening at 11:00 AM daily. It's a bit of a hike but if you've got the stamina and wherewithal to make it down and back in time for the various shindigs, we implore you to go! It's the only reason we couldn't book the Stringdusters ourselves but we think you're going to enjoy getting funky with Reggie Sullivan for the night just as much.
