Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

We highly recommend that you fly into Liberia Guanacasta Airport (LIR). This is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Tamarindo/Playa Langosta. We would deter from flying into San Jose International Airport (SJO) to avoid a 5-hour car ride. Question

Once I land, how do I get to Playa Langosta or Tamarindo?

Answer

Playa Langosta/Tamarindo are about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the airport. We recommend that you organize a shuttle service with Tam Transfers prior to your trip. Contact is Janine at Reservations reservations@tamarindoshuttle.com. Once in Playa Langosta, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and beaches are all within walking distance of your rental home or hotel. If you plan to rent a car, GET THE INSURANCE THE RENTAL COMPANY OFFERS! There are many things that can happen in Costa Rica. Keep in mind that not all the roads are paved and credit card insurance coverage is no longer accepted by most rental car companies. When picking up your rental car, check for any markings/scratches on the exterior of the car, in fact, make a video.
