Question

When should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 4 pm. Please arrive no later than 3:30 pm.

Indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The ceremony will be held on a grass lawn, so please be mindful of the shoes you choose. The reception will also be outdoors but it will be held in a covered area with a dance floor.

When is the deadline to RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 13th. Any RSVP’s after this date unless previously discussed with the couple will not be accepted.

When is the deadline foor hotel reservations to take advantage of the reserved block?

Answer

The reserved block will be available until September 4th. Reservations after that are perfectly fine, however you will not be guaranteed the reduced rate.

Are kids invited?

Answer

Your children are invited if your invitation was included with “and family” or if your children's names are specifically included in the invitation.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation includes a plus one then yes you are allowed one guest.

Food?

Answer

We will be having desserts at the welcome party and a veritable buffet at the reception. Food will be a variety of vegetarian and meat based dishes. We are not providing a vegan option, so please let us know if you will require this accommodation. Please let us know if you have any significant food allergies.

Dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the welcome party and rehearsal dinner is casual dress. The dress code for the ceremony/reception is a mix of cocktail, semi formal, and formal. Please wear something that makes you feel elevated and fancy. Men are encouraged to wear a suit of any color and a nice dress shirt. Women may wear a dress that is knee length or longer, or pants if you prefer! If you have any questions please reach out to Cate or her mom, Cathy.

What is the wedding theme?

Answer

The wedding will revolve around bohemian fairy lights, jewel tones, and an appreciation for the beautiful vineyards that surround the venue.

Alcohol/drinks?

Answer

Both the welcome party and the reception will have an open bar with a variety of beer, wine, and liquor options. There will also be a variety of sodas and juices.

What about parking?

Answer

A shuttle bus will leave the hotel at 3 pm on Saturday afternoon and will return to the Fairfield Inn and Suites with one run at 8 pm and one run at 9:30 pm. Parking at the venue is available. The venue is a 30 minute drive from the hotel. If you are staying elsewhere you can park at the hotel and use the shuttle if you’d like. There will be street parking at the McAlpine’s house for the welcome party on Friday night, so carpool if possible. The Fairfield Inn and Suites is a 5 minute drive from our house, so Uber or Lyft will also be an option.

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Our registry is through our Zola website (the one you’re on right now). We are requesting monetary donations only as we have shared a home together for years and are not in need of any traditional registry items. We are, however, saving for a home of our own!

Music?

Answer

We will have a DJ playing music inspired by the bride and grooms’ music choices.

Local activities?

Answer

Please contact the mother of the bride (Cathy) at 864-710-0859 if you need recommendations for local activities including hiking, swimming, boating, golfing, and local points of interest.
